1921

The brand BIAX is synonymeous for flexible shafts.

1923

Production moves to Maulbronn near Stuttgart into a new building.

1924

Subsidary founded in USA.

1934

Introducing the EFA meat processing range.

1945

Hans-Georg Wezel takes over production responsibility and exceeds product range from flexible shafts to pneumatic industrial tools and meat processing machines.

1954

The subsidary BIAX-Werkzeuge GmbH & Co. in Maulbronn was founded, manufacturing carbide tools.

1968

The subsidary BIAX GmbH in Steckborn (CH) was founded.

1989

Managing Partner becomes Mr. Dipl. Kfm.The third Generation of the Family takes over Management of the Company.

1993

The subsidary EFA Processing Equipment Company in Omaha (USA) was founded.

1997

Quality Management Certification according to DIN-ISO 9001.

1998

The subsidary BIAX-Italia S.r.I. in Roverto (I) was founded.

1998

Schmid & Wezel takes over the SIG-Airtool Division in Neuhausen (CH).

2003

Schmid & Wezel Maulbronn moves into a newly built plant. The production of carbide tools of the former BIAX Hartmetallwerkzeuge GmbH moves to Neuhausen (CH).

2004

Quailty Management Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001-2000.

2007

Schmid & Wezel presents at the IFFA in Frankfurt/Main tools for automatic and robotic slaughter and deboning lines.

2009

After more than 30 years worldwide, successful working in the slaughter industry, the production of EFA 44 splitting saw will be stopped. The bandsaw splitters will follow the EFA 44 with powerfull motors and hygienic highest level from the series SB. EFA SB splitting saws are used daily wordlwide in the meat industry.

2010

At IFFA exhibition in Frankfurt EFA presents the new products, EFA 900 Handskinner, EFA 750 Fishscaler and the new splitting band saw SB 325 E with the new control unit.

2012

Advancement in the field of servo synchronus motors for breaking saws, a new electro trimmer for the meat industry and the products VB 315 stunner and the SB 325 E splitting saw for cattle.

2013

EFA presents at IFFA 2013 the new EFA Long Life Trimmer with flexi shaft and servo sychronus drive. Available also with pneumatic motor. New are also the following powerfull products, the PLE 10 dehider, the breaking saw SK 18 S with servo synchronus motor, the splitting saw SB 325 E and the stunner VB 315.

2015

Extension of the Trimmerprogramms to the products: Trimmer 90/130 Pneumatic

2016

Introduction of the new SB 325 e cattle cut-out saw.

2017

Further development of the SB 326 e beef bisecting saw with 2 hand protection switches.

2017

Improvement of breast leg saw EFA 66 on the new model EFA 67 longlife.

2017

Overhaul and further development of the electro Trimmer.

2017

Modernization of the single-hand pliers according to the current DIN standard.

2018

Revision and further development EFA SK 18 S Zerlegesäge with Servo synchronous Motor.

Market introduction of a spinal cord extraction system and the Air Monitoring Unit for the stun devices to ensure the welfare of the good.

The new Managing director is Mr. Torsten Wiesenmaier, who has been the company`s authorized signatory since 2013.

Introduction of the highly successful electric stunning system EFA VBE - 6.

Use of the new pneumatic rib puller RZ - 100.

Development of the compressed air monitoring system VBDK.

Safety-related revision of the one-handed pliers program.
